AIMEE SAUNDERS, stylist

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Aimee always had a passion for being creative and imaginative from an early age.  She recalls styling her friends in high school for all the dances and parties! Meeting her husband 6 years ago on E-harmony she made the brave move to North Carolina and now lives in Charlotte with her husband Jim, their daughter Chloe and dog Benny.

In the years leading up to becoming a hairstylist Aimee spent time at Oregon State University where she studied theater, mainly doing costuming and make-up for the stage.  From there she went to cosmetology school and started her career as a stylist in Beverly Hills at Umberto Salon.  Finding the commute was tough, she moved closer to where she grew up in Pasadena, working at Salon Aguayo.  She worked with seasoned and amazing stylists for years, inspiring her to become a Redken Performing Artist.  Being a Redken Artist, she has taught classes all over the country as well as worked with some of the top stylists in the world.  On that journey she also became a Redken Certified Colorist, a very proud accomplishment. 

Aimee has had the amazing opportunities to work as a session stylist for such venues as Universal Pictures to LA Fashion Week.  She also is currently on the artistic team for Fuze salon, which further promotes education and inspiration to her peers and new talent to the salon.

In her free time, Aimee likes to travel, cook, hang out with friends, and relax with her awesome husband and beautiful baby girl.  She enjoys the beach and the lake and tries to get back out to California on a regular basis.  "It makes me feel so lucky to have our life here in the South and be able to go back to California anytime to visit my family and friends."

Aimee knows the path she has taken has allowed many doors to open up and lead to her working with some of the most talented people at Fuze Salon.  "Not only am I working with these amazing people, they have become some of my best friends as well.  Doing what you love everyday and working with your friends- nothing gets better than that!!"

WHAT MAKES YOU MOST GRATEFUL?
My baby girl, Chloe.  Just to see the world through her eyes reminds me not to take things for granted.

YOUR FAVORITE PLACES TO EAT IN CHARLOTTE?
We love to go to Zink, Sir Ed's, The Lodge, and a fun place with friends is Cowfish.  Jim and I love great food and drinks and he is an amazing cook, so sometimes the best place to eat is right at home!!

FAVORITE COCKTAIL?
I love Vodka and Cranberry shaken in a martini glass.  Simple and Yummy!

TWO COSMETICS I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT?
Concealer and gloss. 

YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE YOU'RE JUST THE TINIEST BIT EMBARRASSED TO ADMIT TO US?
I love to clean and organize.  I think in my next life I will be a professional organizer.  I love to label!!

YOUR BEST ADVICE?
See the big picture.  Is it really going to matter in a year, a week, a day from now?  Let things go.
